mRNA COVID-19 vaccines, such as Pfizer and Moderna, were developed during the pandemic crisis to significantly reduce the severity of the disease and mortality rates. Current data shows that billions of mRNA vaccine doses have been administered globally. However, over time, feedback from some vaccine recipients regarding physical side effects has led many parties to question long-term safety. In November 2023, the state of Texas filed a lawsuit against Pfizer for deceptive advertising and misleading the public (1) in violation of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA), alleging that Pfizer misrepresented vaccine efficacy and may have concealed certain potential risks. The lawsuit is currently under appeal after the trial court dismissed the case, with no final ruling as of the current year.
This article from LINNA Clinic provides information on what mRNA vaccines are, which brands are available, the side effects that may occur in some cases, and explores appropriate and safe ways to restore and care for the body after COVID-19 vaccination.
What is an mRNA Vaccine? What Brands Are Available?
mRNA (messenger Ribonucleic Acid) vaccines are a new type of vaccine that do not use the live virus and do not cause actual infection. Instead, they use genetic material in the form of mRNA to instruct the body's cells to produce a specific protein found on the virus. In the case of the COVID-19 vaccine, it uses mRNA that replicates the genetic code specifically for the spike protein (Spike Protein), which is a key structure on the surface of the virus. Once injected, the cells temporarily produce harmless spike proteins so that the immune system recognizes them as foreign. This triggers the production of antibodies (Antibodies) and enhances T-cell activity to prepare the body to fight the actual virus in the event of future infection.
Currently, there are two widely approved and used mRNA vaccine brands in many countries, including Thailand:
- Pfizer Vaccine developed by BioNTech/Pfizer, USA, with an overall efficacy of 95% in preventing symptomatic COVID-19 (after receiving 2 doses).
- Moderna Vaccine developed by Moderna, USA, with an overall efficacy of 94.1% in preventing symptomatic COVID-19 (after receiving 2 doses).

Common Side Effects After mRNA Vaccination
After receiving an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine, some side effects may occur. Most are temporary and resolve on their own within 2–3 days. Common symptoms include:
- Pain, swelling, or redness at the injection site
- Low to moderate fever, chills, or body aches
- Headache, fatigue
- Nausea, vomiting
- Muscle or joint pain
mRNA Vaccines and Potential Serious Side Effects
Although COVID-19 vaccines play a crucial role in reducing severe illness and mortality, there are concerns regarding rare but potentially serious health side effects following vaccination, particularly with mRNA vaccines, which have become a major topic of discussion today.
- Myocarditis and Pericarditis: According to health insurance claim data in the United States from 2023–2024 (2), the incidence rate is approximately 8 cases per 1 million vaccine doses administered to individuals aged 6 months to 64 years. A higher rate of approximately 38 cases per 1 million doses was observed in males aged 16–25 years within 7 days post-vaccination. Following this data, the FDA ordered Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna to expand warning statements regarding the risks of myocarditis and pericarditis to increase transparency of risk disclosures to the public.
- Severe Allergic Reaction (Anaphylaxis): The incidence rate is approximately 11 cases per 1 million vaccine doses (3). Symptoms usually manifest within 15–30 minutes post-injection, including hives, generalized itchy rash, difficulty breathing or wheezing, chest tightness, swelling of the lips, tongue, or throat, rapid pulse, nausea, and vomiting. This can be treated with epinephrine and standard care to help patients recover.
However, reports from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) indicate that mRNA COVID-19 vaccines continue to offer benefits in reducing disease severity and mortality that outweigh the risks of rare side effects. For safety, individuals should consult a physician, provide detailed personal health information, follow medical advice, and closely monitor their symptoms after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine.

Post-COVID mRNA Vaccine Recovery and Health Restoration Guidelines
After receiving a COVID-19 or mRNA vaccine, you should monitor your body regularly and follow these recovery guidelines:
- Get sufficient rest, aiming for 6–8 hours of sleep per day so the body can fully restore itself.
- Eat a nutritious diet, focusing on foods that help reduce inflammation, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, fish, healthy fats, while reducing sugar and processed foods.
- Engage in light exercise to support health, such as slow walking, yoga, or stretching, to stimulate circulation.
- Consult a doctor if you experience any unusual symptoms you have not had before, such as palpitations, fatigue, or brain fog. You should see a physician for a thorough physical evaluation and appropriate treatment selection.
- Test your Spike Protein Antibody Level to evaluate whether the body still has immunity against the COVID-19 virus, particularly in those who were infected or vaccinated several months ago. This helps reduce risks from lingering Spike Protein in the body, which can damage vascular endothelial cells, increasing risks of cardiovascular diseases, acute and chronic inflammation, immune dysfunction, and Long Covid.
- Medical restoration therapies, such as personalized vitamin infusions tailored to your physical condition, IV Therapy to deliver essential nutrients directly into the body to boost immunity, reduce fatigue, and effectively combat inflammation, and EBOO Therapy (Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation), which is a process of filtering blood and clearing toxins by drawing blood out to be cleansed through a sterile filter, then introducing low-concentration ozone into the blood before slowly and continuously returning it to the body. Through the circulatory system, the body benefits from both ozone and oxygen, helping reduce chronic inflammation and promoting vascular balance. This is suitable for those experiencing fatigue or feeling that their body has not been the same after COVID-19 vaccination. However, these restorative guidelines are merely options to help support internal body functions, not direct treatments or prevention for diseases, and should only be performed under the supervision of specialized physicians.
Summary
Although mRNA vaccines such as Pfizer and Moderna play a crucial role in reducing the severity of COVID-19, there have been reports of certain side effects that require monitoring, especially for those who feel their bodies have not been the same after vaccination, such as fatigue, weakened immunity, or circulatory system abnormalities. If you are experiencing these symptoms, LINNA Clinic offers holistic health restoration approaches, such as IV Therapy, Spike Protein Antibody Level testing, and EBOO Therapy to help safely eliminate toxins, boost immunity, and rebalance the circulatory system under the supervision of expert medical professors with over 14 years of experience in physical therapy.
